The RAB this year was based on the Howgills from Sedbergh. Keswick AC ‘O’ expert Dave Troman had a great weekend with his mountain marathon partner Simon Patton, the pair running a 6:52:05 day 1, and 5:36:40 on day 2 with some good navigational decisions to secure 4th in the Elite class. Well done also to Jo Gillyon and Catherine Evans who ran 5:22:17 on the Saturday which put them in 4th place in the women’s competition at the end of day 1, and then followed this with a super day 2 of 4:49:26 with some super navigation to take 2nd place overall, an very admirable performance in a tough event which demands a real physical fitness and stamina.
