Fairfield Horseshoe Sat 15th May

Saturday saw perfect conditions for this classic horseshoe organised by Ambleside AC. The official statistics claim this route to be 9miles / 3000ft but some modern day gadgets seem to disagree putting it closer to 10 miles (and a lot of calories).

The route starts and finishes at Rydal Hall and takes in the summits of Great Rigg, Fairfield and finally Dove Crag before a long, fast descent back to the valley and a god awful track that leads you to an uphill finish.

This race always attracts a strong entry and this year saw almost 400 runners on the start line. A decent handful of who were out in yellow representing Keswick.

No results yet but a quick glimpse at the board on the day revealed a strong win by Rob Jebb (Bingley) with Jane Reedy (Ambleside) winning the ladies race.

Well done to all who ran, hope you enjoyed it!
