Club social events

As you may already know, next year's Annual Presentation Evening is already booked at the Castlehead House Hotel for Saturday 10th January and Richard Askwith has kindly agreed to be the guest of honour. We are also intending turning the Latrigg Race (Wednesday 14th May) into a social event, introducing Junior races, refreshments etc.
On an earlier Blog someone requested more social events, and dancing was mentioned (can runners dance?). We were thinking of putting on an inter-club relay this Summer followed by a get together but are struggleing for a free weekend. Maybe we should cut out the running bit and just have fun!!.
Any suggestions?.

Pete.

Thanks Pete, fingers crossed for a gripping championship for a worthy presentation evening.
(No) responses to this message is a fine testament to all the socialites amongst us...Well, i think a dance is a fine idea -a glance at the Bingley Harriers website reveals they hold a successful charity barn dance every year...We could even raise some cash for our juniors.
What about evening trips, with the arrival of long, balmy summer evenings. Perhaps meet up (or minibus) somewhere a little outside our area for a gentle fell run followed by pub and meal.

Sounds good to me, anything which involves running, eating and drinking gets my vote!. Will put your idea to the next committee meeting (April 22nd).
