Borrowdale fell race -Saturday 1st August

Results from the Borrowdale are available here

A report on the race will probably appear in the Reminder next week. A good club turnout...Slower winning times due I guess in part to softness underfoot. Better conditions would probably have seen some Keswick AC times knocking at he door of 3 and 1/2 hours -well done.

The photo looks like i've won a goldfish! Trick i copied from angela Mudge at Jura a few years back - bag with a corner cut out, take a scoop from a stream as you trundle past.
glad we all got round - not a bad jog round a few tops. Over Broad Crag and the Descent down the corridor route was scrappy - fogotten how to run quickly over wet rocks, reckon young Bheinn age 2 and a half could have got down quicker.

Good turn out from the club .... perhaps we should have had it as a championship counter. Maybe next year we can have a true long race in it.

Yes, maybe next year there will be a lakeland categorsy AL that doesn't clash with English, British or other major races...having said that, I just learned that Kenny set his Latrigg record the day after a run round the Borrowdale (in the days when the two races fell on the same weekend).

I said 'true' long as we have used long 'medium' races for the last 2 years.
There are 2 good photos on the Pictorial History of Latrigg and Borrowdale for 1984. plus the Latrigg results.
