While low cloud, strong winds and rain shrouded the summits, two Keswick AC runners lined up along with 289 others at Rydal Hall on Saturday for the 9m/3000’ of the Fairfield Horseshoe. The prolific Colin Valentine was the first home in a respectable 1.38.23 for 41st, adding another race to his already impressive tally this year. Andrew Murray who lost his way following a group on the Fairfield summit during an attempt at the race in 2006, exorcised some demons this year finishing in 1.50.52 (107th) despite wind, rain and low cloud.
