A good turnout at the penultimate road champs event. The race was won by Andrew Wiles of New Marske in 50:50 ahead of a field of 543 in perfect conditions. The newly vet40 Russ Maddams set the pace for the men in 54:15 with Rachel Mellor heading the ladies in 1:14:25.
The teams did fantastically well with the Men Open team finishing 4th, the Vet Men 2nd and Ladies Open 11th.
Spare a thought for Chris Brewer, great run but how agonisingly close is that?
