More positive comments about this 13m/7000' race from Stool End in Langdale, with checkpoints at Bowfell, Esk Pike, Great End, Scafell Pike, Scafell, Slight Side and Pike O Blisco.
On a warm June afternoon which saw 13 DNF's recorded (an increase from 12 at last year's rain-soaked inaugural race), Simon Booth (Borrowdale) improved his record for the route with a time of 2.37.41, and Kate Bailey (Merionydd) posted a new ladies record of 3.30.36.
There were two Keswick AC finishers at this year's race -James Luxmoore who has notched a couple of good results recently posted 3.13.13 for 12th, and Colin Valentine no doubt relishing the route choice the course offers after Slight Side, posted 3.41.55 for 29th. 94 finished, 13 retired.
