Pennine Lancashire 5K -carshare

We are taking a car down to Blackburn next weekend -Sunday 11th July for the Pennine Lancashire 5K Home Countries International Road Race Challenge, 2010 England Athletics 5K Road Champs and Northern Athletics 5K Road Champs. Cross-country county championships this Sunday

The county cross-country championships are this Sunday, 1.30pm Hawcoat Park, Barrow-in-Furness, NOT on Saturday as previously advertised elsewhere.

Also junior races from 12pm. Entry on the day. Full details on entry form HERE. The county champs are a fun event, and a goon run around in the mud.

Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay teams announced

The Keswick AC mens open, and vet team for the 22nd edition of the Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay, which takes place in Brotherswater this weekend, have been announced. The event, first staged in 1985 is a relay over four legs of testing mountain terrain (map here), for teams of 8 -each leg being covered by two runners who run together as a pair.

Last year the event was cancelled due to the start/finish fields being underwater following heavy rains. The Keswick AC open team placed 10th in the 2007 edition of the Relay (results) from a total of 65 teams and will be out to better that result.

The parking for the Haweswater Half is tight, so car sharing is a must. Also you will need to get there early. Anyone wanting to share please e-mail the following info to the address link below:
