Yesterday we held an informal 'Buttermere Round' 34k race in an attempt to prove that the many regulations that have put us off registering the event officially have not put off the runners!
Six brave hearty soles get out for a tough work out in training for their Marathon aspirations later in the year.
Steve Hebblethwaite was first home in 2 hours, 31min, 7 Secs taking it easy for the first half and using it as a good long run for his Marathon training but he still had enough strength to run at 5.45 mile to get way from Tom Durcan who was 2nd in 2h, 32min, 3secs, 3rd was Mike Winter from Morpeth Harriers 2h, 47min, 45 secs.
Full results below:
1st Steve Hebblethwaite 2:31.07
2nd Tom Durcan 2:32.03
3rd Mike Winter 2:47.45
4th Tony Davis 2:55.05
5th Howard Seal 3:04.28
6th Andy Rodger 3:27.39
Many thanks to Russell for organising. We are looking to grow this race without registering it officially, perhaps with official timing next year. Would you like to see it back in the calendar?
