Having done this as a walk - admittedly earlier in the 'summer' on a scorchio day - I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Click here for details.

Cross Border Challenge 10k
Your chance to race all the way from Scotland to England - the Cross Border
Challenge 10k road running race on Sunday 29th July 2012. See here for details.
The next England Athletics Training event is on Wednesday 18th July. Full details here:
Essentially:
6.30pm: Drills session, looking at 'pre-hab' work as recommended by Dan Pfaff, top UKAthletics coach based at the High Performance Centre, Lee Valley, London. I spent an afternoon with Dan and will be passing on his key information for endurance runners.
7.45pm: Planning your training. This is a repeat of last year's poplular session where we looked at what elements to consider in order to put together a basic training plan for an individual.
£5 per person, tea, coffee and biscuits included. Wear running kit and bring a notepad and pen. If you only want to go to one half of the evening - that's absolutely fine. All abilities welcome, coaches, athletes and recreational runners alike.

Dollywagon Pike to Derwentwater
Hi All...
This morning I was running with Tracy Park from CFR, who told me that Les Barker, who is organising the torch relay happening this weekend, is stuck for people to run the Dollywagon Pike to Derwentwater section on Saturday (short notice!).
Anyway, I said I'd post about it on here to see if anyone was interested. It looks like it's ladies he wants as the section of the schedule is headed 'Fell Run - Ladies'.
So, if any Keswick ladies are interested in running the section, please get in touch with Les ASAP on:
I can't go, I'm away, but have fun if you get to do it!
Thanks,
Rachel
