Dedication to the noble cause

If we all keep working hard in training, this is what we can achieve:

Well done to Chris, who came 9th (I think) in the Loughrigg-Silver How fell race on Sun - despite starting more than 5 mins after the rest of us! And thanks to him for adopting this innovative race strategy as it gave me the unique opportunity to be ahead of him at the summit!

Netherhall 10 -Sunday 22nd Feb -Results

Congratulations to Pippa Jackson who had a good blast (64.18) round the 10m race from Netherhall today, enough to see her over 3 minutes clear of the second placed lady. Pippa led an impressive Keswick AC ladies team to a convincing victory with three of the top five places, Jo Gillyon (73.00) and Suzy Grindley (74.51) taking 4th and 5th. Sarah Bailey (76.18), and Kim Clark (80.42) 3rd F45, both had great runs over the undulating course to round off a successful day.

After a damp start from overnight rain, a light breeze dried off the road for the long pull out of Ellenborough, but strengthened later on to give the runners a tough headwind for the long climb along the A596 to Crosby.

Peter Bingham (70.33) led the charge for the men, with support from John Curran (71.06) and Derek Harrison (78.33) running a great race to finish 2nd M60.

Winter Training Race #5 -Blencathra Centre

Good running at race #5 on the slopes of Blencathra above Threlkeld...

...The same number returned from the cloud on Blease Fell as headed into it! A stiff climb to the summit of Blease, on to Knowe Crags, and back down...hard work, well done to all.

And some excellent junior races too. Next and final race is at Sale Fell on Sat 28th Feb.

Car Share - Haweswater Half

Hi Folks,

The parking for the Haweswater Half is tight, so car sharing is a must. Also you will need to get there early. Anyone wanting to share please e-mail the following info to the address link below:

Do you need a lift but haven't your own transport, and where can you be picked up?
Could you take your car & how many others?
If you can take your car, where can you pick up from en route?

Start is 11:30, recommend getting there 10:30 latest, so leave Keswick 9:45ish.

Coordinate e-mails via this link: training@keswick-ac.org.uk

Hi Nicky
I tried to reply to your comment but for some reason I was being told my password was incorrect but it was right!
The route is about 5 miles long with a steep ascent, but the rest of it a nice run along the top. I've never done it before but everyone says it's one of the nicest runs and that even though I'm a beginner I'll be ok. I'm not that fast either. If you would like to run with me just send me an email on Diwhys@hotmail.com

Hi Everyone

I would like to do the run on Saturday (St John's in the Vale) but I would like to know if there is anyone going who is as slow as me, if that's possible! I don't want to hold back all you fast runners, but would like the challenge of the run.

I'll be at the club on Thursday if any of you want to let me know.

Cheers
Diane
